The Many Wonders Of Anthony Quinn!

There are many of us that love watching movie or maybe just simply love watching our favorite actors on the scene. Well, do you have a favorite actor that you admire very much? Whether it is a guy or a lady, there is one actor which stands out among them all and that is none other than Anthony Quinn. This guy can really wear the brand of fame with ease. There are fewer actors out there that can carry the banner of subtle sensuality, commanding grace and perfectly consistent work in every single role they play and he alone can did all of that without difficulty.  Furthermore, Anthony Quinn can navigate through the edges of ethnicity, playing several different roles wherein the Mexican-Irish star was a Greek, an Italian, a Filipino, a Mexican, a Native American, and many other clearly defined identities. He has never hesitant or falling out of character yet he is so convincing in each of the characters.

However, some of us may not know that he had passed away, in June of 2001 and we were still discussing who the sexiest of “older male actors” were.  Anthony Quinn was at the top of all our lists, not just for his undaunted masculinity and sex appeal but for a lot of his great qualities.  Quinn had the flexibility, an ability to cross genres without any concession and a gift for switching roles, that have as a result earned him two Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards, and other various honors.

Think of the movie Viva Zapata, the movie which had made Quinn won his first Oscar.  In this film, he played the drinking, intoxicated romantic Eufemio, a foil to Marlon Brando’s Emiliano Zapata.  Or think of his starring part as Paul Gauguin in Lust for Life and for which has won him his second Oscar, wherein he plays the balance in the dickering, challenging, aggressive friendship with fellow artist Kirk Douglas’s Van Gogh.

Or consider his passionate performance of Santiago in the TV adaptation of Hemingway’s Old Man and the Sea, a performance many might say should entitled to more recognition.  Or his character as the charming Nick Acropolis, attempting to woo the uninterested Rose Muldoon, played by Maureen O’Hara.

Well, we could recall back each of the roles that the Chihuahua-born (1915) Anthony Quinn played in his movies which cover over 160 roles. The actor performed in various movies category which cover dramas, comedies, westerns, numerous other genre films, TV series and shows. There are many sites that were devoted to him which talk about his praises that we could appreciate. However we could also lease or purchase many of his movies as a way of respect for his memory as the stunningly flexible and fine actor.
